The ASR-23 utilizes an electrically driven cam gearbox and mechanical spring-return braking system to apply controlled braking force to passing railcars. Three inductive proximity sensors provide retarder position feedback while 24VDC control and 480VAC drive power allow straightforward integration with existing control infrastructure.
